Lesson 1 of 1 · 4 min read

Confident guesses and made-up facts

Gen AI can write in a confident way even when it is wrong. It might make up names, quotes, statistics or sources, so you should check all factual answers before you use them.

If you would not say it in a pitch, put it on a poster or tell it to a customer without checking, do not use it yet.

Mistakes, missing viewpoints and old information

Gen AI learns from lots of existing content. That content can include stereotypes, old information or missing viewpoints. This means the answer may not work for your customers, school, local area or company values.

A quick fact-check habit

Follow this quick check before you use an AI answer: check one important fact, ask a teammate to read it, and make sure it fits your customers and student company values.
